The Grand Lodge of Virginia is the state level organization of the Fraternal Order Knights of Pythias. It convenes once a year, usually on the second Sunday in October, at a site chosen by the Grand Chancellor. (The Grand Chancellor is the highest executive office in a state) To be a member of the Grand Lodge of Virginia, a man must have earned the rank of Past Chancellor Commander in a Subordinate (local) Lodge. There are currently nine Subordinate Lodges in Virginia. Election of officers is held annually. The Grand Lodge cooperates with the Grand Temple which is its counterpart in the Pythian Sisters (the female Pythian organization).
