             RECEPTION

             A Gala Reception for the New Grand Chief and Grand Chancellor  was held at Beach Lodge on Nov 5.  The event started with a social hour. Then came a delicious dinner followed by a program.

             In the portion of the program dedicated to Grand Chief Pauline Lowe she was given a humorous quiz about hair care . (One of Pauline’s previous occupations was as a beautician.)  Then a mock graduation was held for her. 

             During the part of the program devoted to the Grand Chancellor, the crowd was reminded that Ken was the Bingo caller for his lodge and his favorite number to called was 22.  When he calls it, it sounds like he is saying tutu, so Ken was dressed in a tutu.  Ken is also known as “the candy man” since he raises money for Pythian causes by selling candy.  So Grand Chancellor Ken was presented with masses of candy, while the tune “Candy  Man” played 

The Grand Chief is presented her diploma in a skit put on in her honor at reception.
